Simon says

Having received pearls of wisdom today in quotes that seem fresh out of a Morgan Freeman film from a decorated British war hero, I found it only fair to share them.

Having met Falklands Veteran Simon Weston, I could see why companies like ITN, the BBC and a recruitment campaign for the police, love using him to send a message.

The Welshman comes across emotive but sincere in a firm voice, telling a story which he has probably told countless times before, as though it was yesterday.

After suffering 46% burns, enduring countless operations and battling PTSD and depression, not many are more qualified to define the word success than the public figure.

He told me: “Success is not measured by mansions, Aston Martins or Bentleys – a true measure of success is the improvement between where you once was and where you are now.

”Nothing in life is guaranteed, life doesn't owe you anything except the chance to have the same opportunity as the man next to you.”
